Raise the Roof

The roof is on!

Trusses first.

Remember that big temporary beam we took out? Well, now it's time for it to set in its permanent place.

The majority of the roof is "stick-framed", essentially meaning it is built on site without using pre-engineered trusses.

This is the very cool bent steel beam that supports the center ridge beam.

This was a shed dormer we decided to add at the last minute. It makes the room so much more usable.

I love the cathedral look inside. It's a shame we have to build walls in it.

Sheathing goes on.

All dried-in; almost ready for shingles.
